Hip-hop, an artistic and cultural movement that began in the Bronx, New York, during the 1970s, has evolved into a worldwide phenomenon. By 2024, the hip-hop scene is varied and constantly evolving, reflecting a wide range of influences and styles. It remains a dynamic and forward-thinking genre that continues to influence and reflect cultural, social, and artistic trends globally.

In Birmingham, Alabama, the hip-hop scene is vibrant, characterized by a blend of local talent and cultural elements. Although it is often overshadowed by bigger cities in the hip-hop world, Birmingham has its own unique scene that reflects its Southern roots and historical significance.

However, two Birmingham locals, Classified Alias, a Stellar and Dove award-winning producer, and Wescam, an up-and-coming artist and visionary, are poised to make a cultural impact with their upcoming show on January 4.
