The multi-disciplinary creative, photographer, designer, DJ and founder of BLANK 600 is building more than a studio. He’s helping shape the next chapter of Birmingham’s arts scene.

What happens when you stop asking which creative lane you’re supposed to choose and start embracing every part of your imagination?

For Tony Haute Sinclair, the answer is simple: you create.

You photograph it, film it, design it, put on the music, gather the artists, open the doors and give other people room to create, too.

In a city experiencing its own creative evolution, Sinclair isn’t waiting around to see what Birmingham’s next chapter looks like, he’s helping write it.

A photographer, videographer, graphic designer, DJ, entrepreneur and now the owner of BLANK 600 Gallery/Studio, Sinclair represents a generation of creatives who refuse to believe they have to fit neatly into one category. His work moves between visual art, music, fashion, design and community, with each discipline influencing the next.

Behind the cameras, creative projects and growing gallery is someone who describes himself much more simply.

“I’m really just a big kid at heart,” Sinclair said.

That childlike sense of curiosity may actually be one of his greatest creative strengths. He grew up surrounded by people who allowed him to imagine without constantly trying to put him inside a box. His family encouraged him to be himself, nurtured his imagination and gave him the freedom to explore what interested him. Looking back, Sinclair recognizes just how much that environment shaped the creative person he would become. 

“Ultimately, my creativity comes from that place of love, curiosity, imagination, and wonder. I’m grateful for every person who has contributed to it, because they continue to fuel this almost never-ending need I have to create, explore, imagine, and bring something new into the world,” Sinclair said.
